  • I'm an award winning marketer with over fifteen years of international business experience. I live in Sydney, Australia, but I was born and raised in the North West of England.​ My accent sounds exactly how you'd imagine it to. After almost two years in a role equal parts rewarding and challenging - leading the development and optimisation of group-wide engagement - I've gone back to my roots, as Head of Social at Westpac Group. Prior to this I had a ridiculous amount of fun pretending to lead an amazing group of game-changing marketers at Fox Sports, using a strategic combination of bad comedy, back-hand-high-fives, and far too much coffee.I've previously done some geeky stuff I'm also very proud of at companies including Vodafone and ING Direct.

     

    In a previous life I drove rally cars competitively for a while, picking up a few trophies (and bruises) along the way. I fly a bit, too.

    Reporting into the Director of Marketing and Communications, I'm responsible for priority driven marketing integration across the Fox Sports business. I'm tasked with providing first class marketing solutions across all Fox Sports brands and products including FoxSports, FoxFooty, Fox Sports News, FoxSports.com.au, News Corp Australia sports products and promotions, and all digital products within each brand pillar, including our globally recognised, award winning forum: 'The Crowd' - Australia's most valuable and unique sports conversation destination online.

    Overseeing and supporting a social media team of 40 based across three offices.
    Successfully steering the team and business towards becoming a truly democratised social enterprise, supporting the extremely talented and visionary Chris Gross, across strategy and implementation, as we became one of the first businesses in the world to attempt such a transition at large scale (1000 staff and 6 million customers)

    First marketing lead hired within this rapid-growth startup. Responsible for identifying new market opportunities (B2B and B2C), team building and talent recruitment, strategy, planning and management of promotions across multiple businesses and brands, Direct Marketing, EDMs, Social Media account setup and development (including a highly successful acquisition project via Facebook, bringing in a new six-figure per-week revenue stream).

    Content Creation, Management of Social Media Accounts including setup, strategy, community management, community engagement, policies & terms. Sizeable Ad spend with Facebook over 6 month period - all international communities and markets. App development and optimisation.

    My role at EMG was vast. I was brought on-board to enhance and develop the business as Express Publications morphed into EMG, and moved forward into the world of digital media. Traditionally a print media specialist with over 70 magazine titles, Express Media Group (Express Publications Pty Ltd.) has, over the last 5 years, made some ground breaking changes to the way lifestyle magazines are perceived. With huge potential ahead of the group, they now offer clients so much more than simply ad space in the best targeted, specialist lifestyle print magazines available. With DVD production, online magazines and websites seeing over 4 million unique visits per month, EDMs, TVCs, and branded content show production. I managed the process of moving the titles to an online format, and helped to establish a strategy and content/conversation/recruitment plan for the Social Media accounts, and forums across all performance and leisure titles.

    I achieved my goal of establishing new digital channels for B2B revenue generation across multiple verticals, increasing advertising revenue by 400%, and creating demand across current and newly acquired advertisers, by providing new and exciting ways to position their product or service offering via EMG's publications.
